 Job Title: Director of Supply Chain

Location: Remote - this role can be remote- ideally based in the Mid West or East coast for ease of travel to the sites under this remit (IL, NH, CT)

About the Role: The Director of Supply Chain will have responsibility over the Supply Chain teams for 4 Vantedge Medical sites (Wheeling, IL; Hudson, NH; Durham, CT; Wallington, CT). This role will be a key leader in driving S&OP, production planning, purchasing, and logistics improvements across sites. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, who collaborates well with others, is highly analytical, can aggressively drive improvements, takes ownership, and has high internal expectations.

Responsibilities

Supply Chain Center of Excellence (COE)

    • Assess, develop, and Implement process improvement and best practices to improve supply chain maturity across sites

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)

  • Build and mature a standardized, forward-looking S&OP process through design, implementation, and continuous improvement
  • Drive cross-functional alignment by integrating demand, supply, and financial plans across operations, supply chain, sales, and finance 
  • Strengthen planning and data discipline by improving forecasting, systems, and data governance to enable reliable decision-making
  • Link S&OP to execution (S&OE) by translating plans into executable schedules, order commitments, and inventory strategies that improve on-time delivery
  • Lead change and capability building by establishing KPIs, defining roles, and developing team capabilities to embed accountability and continuous improvement

MRP Best Practices

  • Evaluate current use of MRP system and drive best practice use to ensure reliable demand and supply signals
  • Ensure defined and accurate master data that drive reliable MRP signals
  • Research and implement advanced planning functionality into current MRP system

Planning

  • Execute production scheduling processes related to work order releases, printing, management, sequencing, visual management, and frozen schedule
  • Execute production scheduling processes related to daily production attainment and accountability across functions
  • Ensure execution of capacity (equipment and labor) planning and dispatch reporting across sites
  • Manage inventory PFEP and drive site projects to reduce inventory levels
  • Develop standard and ad-hoc supply/demand analyses to support projects or customer inquiries/commitments

Purchasing

  • Execute purchasing processes related to purchase order releases, buyer exception messages, and vendor performance management 

Strategic Sourcing

  • Proactively identify indirect and direct purchasing cost savings projects, track savings, and mitigate cost increases
  • Support NPI and estimating in RFQs to suppliers for large projects
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews and implement Supplier Scorecards to improve and monitor performance
  • Develop long-range commodity strategies in alignment with strategic business objectives

Logistics

  • Drive efficient and on-time logistics execution including strong transactional discipline and inventory accuracy

Collaboration / Problem-Solving / Strategy

  • Collaborates in a proactive manner with production, engineering, and quality to develop and implement site improvements
  • Drives consensus building, clear focus, and follow-through on execution
  • Develops site supply chain strategy and effectively communicates to team and across functions

Talent Development

  • Develop and coach supply chain talent through a structured approach, regularly assessing organizational needs, and acting quickly on gaps
  • Define roles, set clear expectations, and support team effectiveness through training, conflict resolution, and strong leadership
  • Build planning capability by training teams on MRP and planning processes, standardizing SOPs, and implementing tools and accountability methods to ensure process adherence

Customer Communication

  • Participate in strategic customer communication on capacity and supply related projects or requirements

 

Requirements / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations management, or related field required
  • 10 years’ experience in supply chain
  • 5 years’ experience in planning
  • Prior experience building S&OP processes and improving MRP utilization
  • Demonstrated change management and transformational change experience
  • Strong communicator internally and externally; able to address and resolve problems and conflict with ease
  • Ability to strongly influence teams cross-functionally
  • Ability to use data and standardize the use of data to drive improved decision-making
  • Ability to travel up to 15% primarily to Rancho Cordova and Stockton sites including some supplier visits (primarily local)

  • Supervision of Supply Chain Manager, Planning Manager, S&OP Manager, Logistics, Buyers, Production Planners, and S&OP Planners
