JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to senior leadership, the Director, Program Management will lead a team of Program Managers and drive execution excellence across technical performance, cost, quality, schedule attainment, and customer satisfaction. This is a highly visible position requiring a collaborative, hands-on leader who can develop high-performing teams, enhance program management capabilities, and align execution with business growth and profitability goals in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration, innovation, and disciplined execution to achieve both customer satisfaction and strong financial performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of complex aerospace programs from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives
  • Drive program execution excellence by establishing governance, processes, and performance metrics (cost, schedule, quality, and risk)
  • Manage cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance) to ensure successful program outcomes
  • Serve as interface with customers, ensuring clear communication, satisfaction, and contract compliance
  • Develop and maintain detailed program plans, schedules, and budgets; monitor performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues proactively, ensuring minimal impact to delivery timelines and financial targets
  • Lead proposal development efforts, including cost estimation, resource planning, and risk analysis for new business opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies (e.g., AS9100, FAA, DoD regulations)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program management processes, tools, and team performance
  • Mentor and develop program managers and project teams, building leadership capability and organizational bench strength
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term program strategies, resource allocation, and growth initiatives
  • Oversee supplier and partner performance, ensuring alignment with program requirements and contractual commitments
  • Provide regular executive reporting on program status, financial performance, and key risks/opportunities

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years program management experience that includes automotive, aerospace and government/defense programs in a regulated industry
  • Proven leadership of complex programs
  • Strong financial and business acumen (cost, margin, forecasting)
  • Expertise in program governance, risk management, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
  • Prior leadership experience that includes coaching, training, performance reviews, setting goals/objectives and measuring results and effectiveness
  • Exceptional skills with data analysis, including Power BI.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering or technical discipline. May consider 10+ years directly related experience in lieu of Degree
