The Shelby County Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in Springfield, Massachusetts. • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that include pre-crisis and crisis strategies, behavioral guidelines, risk assessments, and medication management plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards, utilizing electronic health record systems effectively.
• Implement evidence-based screening tools in collaboration with the clinical team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Engage with various programs and teams to create and uphold positive behavior support plans aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes.
• Actively participate in licensing and accreditation processes to uphold the high standards of quality care.
• Serve as a vital link between clients and external service systems, state agencies, and community partners to facilitate comprehensive support.
• Foster open communication with team members and stakeholders to align with the organization’s mission and contractual obligations.
• Develop and nurture relationships with local, state, federal, and private sector organizations to promote program visibility and to explore new partnerships and funding opportunities.
• Commit to ongoing professional development through attending relevant conferences, workshops, and advocacy meetings.
• Promote agency values and philosophy while delivering high-quality mental health services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to support clinic operations.

In this role, you will work primarily with individuals facing diverse mental health challenges, including those recovering from substance use issues, coping with developmental disabilities, and managing acquired brain injuries. Our population consists of clients from various backgrounds and experiences who seek services centered on their unique needs and aspirations, fostering an inclusive and supportive therapeutic environment.

• A Master's Degree in a relevant mental health field.
• An active, Independent Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation.

Although not mandatory, candidates with experience in trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, or community mental health settings will be favored. Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques would also enhance your effectiveness in this role.
