Summary:

The Portfolio Manager - Investor Real Estate is designated for those underwriters with the greatest responsibility for the most complex business loan relationships, and those with the highest credit exposure within the business segment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports Business Banking production by maintaining an individual pipeline of work.
  • Reviews all financial and credit application information to make sound credit decisions. Credits would typically include those with moderate to high complexity.
  • Utilizes single approval authority.
  • Periodic and timely receipt, analysis, dissemination, and recordation of
    required financial information
  • Ongoing assessment of risk factors, not inherent in the financial information; Sensitivity analysis
  • Timely updating of risk ratings and adjustment to the system of record, as
    appropriate
  • Identification of potential problem loans and/or forecast of potential
    downgrade/upgrade to or from criticized or worse status
  • Oversight of system integrity
  • Anticipation of potential borrowing/credit needs, including renewals,
    restructures, etc.
  • Evaluation of adequacy of current credit facilities and structure and other
    credit-related products
  • Timely identification and escalation of financial deterioration
  • Appropriately assess risk profile of borrower.
  • Tasks as needed to support the line of business and job family
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3+ years' experience with business or commercial underwriting in a centralized lending environment analyzing, primarily IRE

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • Experience with IRE including retail, multifamily, office, and warehouse industrial properties
  • Strong portfolio management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to write in a concise, logical manner to clearly document transactions risks and mitigants
  • Customer service focus and good interpersonal skills are critical to be successful in this position along with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in financial sales environment

Compensation Range:

The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
