Job description

At NorthBay Health as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department you will provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay's professional nursing practice model. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care. You will also use a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.

Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing,  
  • Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered employees)

 License and Certifications:

  • Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required 
  • Must have Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment 
  • PALS or ENPC within six months of employment
  • TNCC or ATCN certification within one year of employment
  • CEN, CPEN, or TCRN preferred

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • A minimum of six months acute care RN experience required
  • One year of Emergency care experience preferred. One-year RN experience as an emergency transport nurse is equivalent to six months of acute care experience.  
  • Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to emergent and trauma patients
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills

  • FTE: 0.9 (Full-Time)
  • Schedule: 36 hours weekly
  • Shift Length: 12-hour shifts

Compensation:

  • Hourly Salary Range Min $77.39 - Max $93.32 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience) 
  • Plus, Generous Shift Differentials
