Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Establishing a positive and trusting rapport with patients, fostering an environment conducive to open dialogue and healing.
• Conducting thorough assessments to diagnose mental health disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices and personalized approaches.
• Preparing individualized treatment plans based on the specific needs and circumstances of each patient, regularly updating them to reflect progress and changing needs.
• Facilitating weekly sessions that may include individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy, aligning therapeutic approaches with patients' goals.
• Implementing ongoing evaluations of patient progress, adjusting treatment modalities and goals as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborating with other mental health specialists when referrals are needed, ensuring comprehensive care is provided to clients.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient interactions for compliance and follow-up purposes.
• Participating in regular team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an LMFT at Hackensack Mental Healthcare Center, you will work closely with a diverse clientele. This population includes individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Your role will be crucial in guiding them through their therapeutic journeys, empowering them to overcome obstacles and develop coping strategies that promote long-term well-being.

Qualifications

• A valid license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is mandatory.
• Proficiency in evidence-based practices focused on addiction counseling and addressing co-occurring disorders is highly valued.
• Strong therapeutic and counseling skills, with demonstrated ability to motivate and empower clients through challenges.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive yearly salary range of USD 70,000 to 90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include:
