Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clients to assess symptoms related to mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
  • Monitor client progress meticulously, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal care.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices to foster understanding and empowerment.
  • Work alongside psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring the best outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development to enhance therapeutic practices.
  • Advocate for client needs and mental health awareness, helping to reduce stigma within the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on individuals facing mood disorders, including a diverse client base such as those experiencing homelessness, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. Understanding the unique challenges faced by these populations and employing a compassionate, empathetic approach will be vital in fostering therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications
  • A current, active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is necessary for this position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • A strong sense of empathy, a nonjudgmental attitude, and the ability to understand diverse client experiences.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage case loads and documentation responsibilities.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
