Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and follow-up evaluations to establish personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions using a variety of modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and legal standards, while utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Engage in collaborative discussions with a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to promote holistic care strategies for clients.
• Commit to ongoing professional development by staying informed about the latest research in mental health, attending workshops and training relevant to your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will have the opportunity to support a diverse patient population, addressing a variety of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your role as a counselor will be crucial in developing therapeutic alliances with clients from different backgrounds, fostering an inclusive atmosphere where sensitivity to cultural differences is paramount.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field, with current and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical counseling setting, providing individual and group therapy.
• Strong understanding of ethical practices and regulations governing mental health counseling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Proficient in the use of electronic medical record systems and other counseling software.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in areas such as trauma-informed care, substance abuse treatment, or couples/family therapy would be highly beneficial.
• Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to create integrated care plans is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
