Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage / Telecommunications Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for structured cabling, telecommunications, security, access control, audio-visual, and related low-voltage systems for commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor and material estimates.
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), vendor comparisons, and project proposals.
  • Identify scope gaps, conflicts, and change order opportunities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and project teams.
  • Ensure estimates align with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Qualifications
  • Experience estimating low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling projects.
  • Ability to read architectural, electrical, telecom, security, and AV drawings.
  • Knowledge of NEC requirements related to telecommunications systems.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and industry standards.
  • Experience with copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
  • Knowledge of data networks, security systems, access control, AV systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Experience with pathway systems including cable tray, conduit, ladder rack, and J-hooks.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Accubid, ConEst, OST, PlanSwift, and/or Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BICSI certification (RCDD preferred).
  • Experience with manufacturers such as CommScope, Corning, Panduit, Belden, Leviton, Siemon, or Hubbell.
  • Experience estimating projects in commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, government, or data center environments.
