This role requires deep testing maturity, AWS expertise, and the ability to leverage AI tools to modernize automation and uplift the entire organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and evolve the automation strategy and frameworks
  • Ensure everything is tested via automation within the sprint
  • Partner daily with developers, infra teams, and product owners
  • Lead automation for full end-to-end AWS workflows (events, data, integrations)
  • Integrate and maintain automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines
  • Use AI tools to accelerate development and teach the team best practices
  • Guide junior engineers and help transition manual testers into automation
  • Act as a go-to technical leader for quality, tooling, and innovation

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of automation engineering experience
  • Proven experience designing automation frameworks from scratch
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright (TypeScript preferred) or similar tools
  • Deep knowledge of AWS and testing distributed/cloud-native systems
  • API automation experience (REST, microservices, event-driven systems like SQS/Kafka)
  • CI/CD integration experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Strong programming skills (TypeScript, Java, or Python)
  • Experience embedding automation fully in-sprint
  • Ability to work independently and own delivery, quality, and deployment
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills

Pluses:

  • Experience using AI-powered automation and MCP tools (Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI assistants)
  • Contract testing, component testing, visual testing, accessibility scans
  • Testing serverless workflows, queues, triggers, and event chains
  • Experience mentoring or training automation testers and engineers
  • Architecture documentation and dashboard/reporting experience
  • Passion for innovation, experimentation, and modernization initiatives
