Job description

White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community (CCRC) in beautiful La Jolla, CA, is seeking a full time Home Care Supervisor to work in our Community. As the largest nonprofit owner/operator of senior living communities in California and one of the largest in the country, we are more than just a place to work. The Home Care Supervisor contributes to the success of HumanGood by promoting, providing, and maintaining the quality of service to seniors in their homes in alignment with HumanGood's mission, vision and core beliefs. Supervises, hires and trains 5 to 30 Home Care Aides providing in home care and services to seniors. Responsible for managing all aspects of the unit assigned, including but not limited to budgeting, payroll, team member relations and resident customer service.
SHIFT: Full-Time Monday-Friday, nights and weekends as needed
PAY RANGE: $75,000-$80,000 Annually based on experience
To be successful in the role, you would have:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education. BA/BS preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional clerical experience in an office setting
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional managerial experience in a related field
  • One (1) year experience in Health Care environment preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Internet Explorer or equivalent software; MS Publisher and MS PowerPoint as needed
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

You would be responsible for:
  • Recruitment/interview of direct Caregivers
  • Orientation and training for direct Caregivers
  • Develop schedules matching Caregivers' availability with client needs
  • Completes weekly census of home care hours
  • Reviews client invoices
  • Listens, resolves, update and documents all client and Caregivers' concerns, changes or needs
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities
  • Confirm schedules with client, Caregivers and community
  • Reviews and calculates billing charges for clients
  • Respond to Resident/Client needs and requests promptly, appropriately, and with respect at all times
  • Proper and effective usage of time, resources, supplies and budget
  • Act as liaison between clients, Caregivers and CCRC and Home Office staff
  • Manage initial inquiry telephone calls.
  • Manage client assessments.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance visits with clients
  • Report issues of security, health and/or safety to appropriate supervisor as soon as practicable
  • Ensure resident rights are preserved
  • Foster appropriate communication and relations between Resident, Family, Client, Guest, and Staff
  • Monitor and ensure Caregiver compliance with RCFE trainings and required certification
  • Complete appropriate Incident reports for Risk Management e.g. Resident Falls
  • Follow established policies and procedures
  • Understand and comply with all regulatory standards set forth by governing entities
  • Assure timely completion of all required reports and forms
  • Maintain Resident/Family/Client confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations, Human Good's Commitment to Quality, and Employee Standards of Conduct
  • Lead staff to achieve community, function and company performance goals.
  • Ensure quality recruiting, hiring, development and retention practices consistent with company procedures and standards.
  • Assign, review, plan and coordinate the work of other team members.
  • Recommend and approve the discipline, dismissal, transfer or promotion of team members.
  • Assess the work of team members and write performance appraisals.
  • Administer pay, rewards and recognition within company guidelines that support individual and team performance toward achieving goals.
  • Analyze problems that arise in the areas under supervision and implement solutions.
  • Effectively communicate in all written and verbal forms of communication.
  • Create an environment for staff that honors, respects and values their opinions and suggestions; demonstrate fair treatment and ethical business practices; support staff development and reward achievement.
