Job Summary:

This is a 12-month contract. Under general supervision prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests; maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences; ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area; meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues; assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Teaches English courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of English ; establishes, measures, and evaluates program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Position may require committee and project assignments or other duties as assigned as well as day/evening/distance learning classes and activities.
Instruction:
Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards
Teaches face to face, hybrid or on campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads
Instructs courses in a classroom/lab/clinic/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry
Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab/clinic
Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
Grades all coursework in a timely manner
Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues
Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline
Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences

Safety/Technology:
Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and/or lab
Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order
Suggests new/updated technology to remain current with trends and developments within the field.
Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times
Curriculum/Student and Program Learning Outcomes
Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals and objectives
Prepares lesson plans for instruction
Works collaboratively with faculty within discipline to establish, measure and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to appropriate program chair/director.
Submits reports and data with respect to accrediting bodies
Reviews and edits master course shells in the online learning platform as necessary.
Supports Program Director/Division Deans/Associate Deans:
Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
Prepares budget requests
Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
Serves on committees and project assignments as necessary
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: (candidates must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered)
Master's Degree in English or Master's degree in a related discipline with 18 hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in English
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level
Experience teaching in an online or hybrid environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time instructional position. Work load is Monday-Friday day/evening hours as needed. Weekends based on need.

Travel:
Travel to other campuses is a possibility for teaching assignments, meetings, trainings, and professional development.
