Job description

Construction Carpenter(1099)

Location: North Carolina (Primary service area: Hickory, NC & surrounding areas)
Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Overview

We are seeking qualified, dependable candidates with experience in multiple construction trades for residential and light commercial projects throughout North Carolina. Subcontractors must perform all work in compliance with the North Carolina Building Code and applicable state and local regulations.

Scope of Work

Experience in one or more of the following trades is preferred:

  • Framing & general carpentry (rough and finish)

  • Drywall installation and repair

  • Interior and exterior trim/ moulding

  • Flooring (LVP, hardwood, laminate, tile)

  • Cabinet installation

  • Painting (interior/exterior)

  • Deck repair and construction (NC code compliant)

  • Remodel, renovation, and punch-out work

All plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work must be performed by properly licensed North Carolina subcontractors when required by law.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in multiple trades

  • Knowledge of and compliance with North Carolina Building Code

  • Own tools and reliable transportation

  • Ability to read scopes of work, plans, and specifications

  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional jobsites

  • General Liability Insurance (Certificate of Insurance required)

  • Subcontractor must notify the company of any insurance lapse

  • Professional conduct and communication

W-9 / 1099 Compliance

This position is for independent contractors only. All subcontractors must:

  • Complete and submit a Form W-9 prior to receiving payment

  • Acknowledge responsibility for all federal and North Carolina taxes

  • Understand that compensation will be reported annually on Form 1099-NEC

  • Carry their own insurance and workers’ compensation coverage, if required

No taxes will be withheld from payments.

Compensation

  • Competitive per-project or per-day rates

  • Consistent work available for dependable subcontractors

  • Payment terms: Bi-weekly / Net 15, upon approved invoice and required documentation
