Job description

Since 1917, Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines, systems, and plants for advanced composites, building products, and pulp & paper.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and machine welding structural steel and aluminum materials.
This is a first shift position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use shop drawings, written, and verbal instructions to prepare, layout, and fit materials as specified.
  • Weld materials in all positions in accordance to shop drawings & standard welding practices.
  • Setup and regulate machine parameters such as gas, current, amperage, voltage, to produce correct bead size, and proper penetration.
  • Check and confirm all required dimensions using a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, or other inspection devices as required.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and manlifts.
  • Detect faulty processes and provide some input for their resolution.
  • Be available to work overtime when needed to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three years dual shield experience required.
  • Minimum of two years close tolerance-fitting experience required.
  • A.B.O certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manufacturing planning, weld symbols, and sketches required.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure required.
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
  • Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
  • Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
