Position Summary
St. Johns River State College seeks a dedicated individual to serve as a full-time Psychology Instructor. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in psychology courses while supporting student learning and engagement through effective teaching practices. The instructor will also participate in college service activities, departmental collaboration, and professional development in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Instruction
โข Provide instruction and office hours as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
โข Employ diverse teaching methods to support various learning styles, academic preparation levels, and nontraditional students
โข Commit to continuous improvement of teaching and student learning based on components of academic mindset
โข Utilize student engagement strategies in instructional delivery
โข Provide accommodations to students with disabilities in a fair and timely manner
โข Maintain prompt and regular attendance for assigned classes and office hours
College Service
โข Prepare for classes, grade assignments and assessments, and evaluate instructional materials
โข Develop instructional syllabi and class schedules
โข Utilize the Learning Management System effectively
โข Provide timely feedback to students and refer students to appropriate support services
โข Record and report grades and attendance promptly
โข Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes
โข Participate in department, division, and college planning, assessment, and accreditation activities
โข Attend committee, department, division, and college meetings
โข Participate in commencement ceremonies and college-wide initiatives
โข Mentor and evaluate other faculty members as assigned
โข Support student activities and clubs
Professional Development and Program Support
โข Participate in professional development activities as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
โข Coordinate with the dean, associate dean, curriculum coordinator, and faculty to support departmental operations and program effectiveness
โข Assist with program organization, planning, development, accreditation, and continuous review
โข Teach daytime, evening, and online classes as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
โข Master's degree in Psychology or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology
โข Social and human services experience preferred
โข Experience teaching college-level psychology courses preferred
โข Applicant must pass employment/reference verification screening and a background check
โข This position is not eligible for Veterans' Preference
