Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The School of Education is an academic unit reporting to the Provost. The School is a major center of research, teaching, and public service within the State of North Carolina, the nation, and the world. The School offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The mission of the School of Education is to conduct research, and generate basic and applied knowledge about human development, educational technology and entrepreneurship, teaching and learning, school counseling, school psychology, administration, as well as educational policy and leadership; prepare leaders in the profession of education by conducting outstanding research, teaching, and service; and assist in the development of strong and effective public schools in North Carolina. In order to fulfill its mission, the School is organized into three academic divisions: (1) Culture, Curriculum, & Teacher Education (CCATE), (2) Learning, Development & Psychological Sciences (LDPS), and (3) Educational Policy, Organization, & Leadership (EPOL).
Position Summary
The School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks scholars with professional experience in organizational learning and leadership for an appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor starting January 1, 2027. These full-time 12-month positions will be appointed for three-year terms, with the potential to renew for additional terms. 
This position is an opportunity to contribute to expanding organizational leadership knowledge and teaching contributions across the undergraduate and graduate programs in the School of Education. Candidates' primary responsibilities will include developing and teaching courses in organizational leadership and mentoring students in the EdD in Educational Leadership's online concentration in Organizational Leadership and Learning (OLL). In addition, candidates will contribute to the ongoing development of undergraduate and graduate programs; teach in related programs as available; and provide leadership and service at the school, university, local, state, and national levels.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must hold a doctorate in education, sociology, organizational psychology, or closely related fields. 
The position requires experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students, particularly in areas related to the use of research for organizational improvement. Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge on how adults and organizations learn and develop.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in organization-based research and the use of research to inform practice in K-12 or higher education, non-profit, business, government, and/or other organizational settings.
