Job description

Position Title: Registered Nurse

Location: Tampa, FL

Pay rate: $46/hr.

Assignment duration: 10 months with possible extension

Schedule: Full-time, approximately 32 - 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday

Overview

  • Provide skilled nursing care to students in a school setting based on individualized healthcare plans.

  • Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, rectal, and gastric tube routes as prescribed.

  • Perform specialized nursing procedures, including nebulizer and inhaler treatments, tracheostomy care, oral and tracheal suctioning, oxygen administration, catheterization, gastric tube feedings, G-tube care, and dressing changes.

  • Monitor and manage students with chronic and acute medical conditions, including seizure disorders and diabetes, while responding promptly to medical emergencies using CPR/AED and First Aid.

  • Assess students' health status, document care provided, maintain accurate medical records, and collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective student care.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred, but not required

  • Current BLS/CPR certification

  • Prior school-based nursing experience or Pediatric experience is strongly preferred, but not required
