Job description

Summary
This position will be responsible for development and compilation of engineering, procurement and manufacturing master schedules to support the work of the engineering, estimating and manufacturing groups on large, complex projects. The successful candidate, at a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level, will understand, demonstrate, and utilize standard planning/scheduling methodologies and tools, and possess the demonstrated ability to develop logic and durations from preliminary estimate information. This position will require extensive interface with the project team(s), as necessary to develop and maintain accurate and timely schedule reporting and analysis.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide full cycle project controls service from initial planning through detailed scheduling and change management
  • Prepare plans and schedules for assigned small, large, and routine projects
  • Utilize Primavera 6 and demonstrate SME-level proficiency
  • Prepare and develop logical Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in accordance with Enerflex coding structure.
  • Demonstrate SME-level knowledge of project control principles
  • Develop and maintain physical percent complete and overall percent complete for the project
  • Implement consistent planning, scheduling, and resource management processes to meet varying project sizes, scope, and needs
  • Create and maintain baseline schedules
  • Develop and maintain design, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules
  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules, as required
  • Analyze vendor and subcontractor schedules and ensure inclusion in master schedule at the appropriate level
  • Support claims avoidance, analysis, and mitigation
  • Perform critical path analysis and effectively communicate with the appropriate project stakeholders.
  • Decide reasonable schedule logic, constraints, and duration from interactive planning meetings with project teams
  • Analyze schedule progress and performance, identify developing problem areas, and offer mitigation solutions
  • Formulate and analyze the impact of delays, communicating the status of the schedule and risk areas to team members
  • Lead project planning and schedule review meetings
  • Identify process, performance, productivity, and other improvements, and work with various levels of the organization to plan and deliver those improvements
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Lead, provide oversight, or participate in improvement teams, as appropriate
  • Gather, prepare, and analyze information to prepare status reports
  • Exercise independent and professional judgment in solving problems and coordinating issues as it relates to cost and schedules, and exercise independent judgment in dealing with contractors and team members in solving scheduling conflicts
  • Assist Project Management with completion of weekly and monthly reports for presentation to the client and internal management
  • Assist Procurement with subcontract management, including milestone development, contract documentation requirements, and claims mitigation
  • Prepare schedule analysis for the corporate Risk Management process and tools on all critical projects
  • Facilitate project team development and reviews, including action items and status, of all project risks

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • 12+ years of scheduling experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated SME-level experience with Primavera P6
  • SME-level understanding of Critical Path Method concepts
  • SME-level construction planning and scheduling experience on midstream or heavy industrial projects
  • Understands business implications of decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and the capability to meet scheduled deadlines when managing multiple initiatives
  • High level of analytical thinking skills to plan and forecast work
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a cross-functional environment providing accurate data to team members, ensuring forecasted project delivery

Preferred Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree
  • 5+ years' experience working with SAP or other industry-standard enterprise financial system
  • Primavera database management experience
  • EPC experience
