PRODUCE MANAGER
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Achieves desired gross profit.
  • Achieves desired level of productivity.
  • Projects sales, product movement, labor needs.
  • Orders product according to established guidelines.
  • Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
  • Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel.
  • Follows established guidelines in all personnel issues, interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline, discharge, etc.
  • Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports and verify receipts.
  • Prepares weekly work schedules according to established guidelines.
  • Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
  • Using pricing/label gun, marks each item with the correct selling price.
  • Rotates merchandise according to anticipated shelf life/product expiration dates.
  • Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
  • Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ensure coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes, (produce cooler maximum low temperature, 32 degrees).
  • Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintains a neat and clean work area.
  • Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
  • Other Duties as assigned
