Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the pistachio processing plant. This position ensures all electrical components are functioning safely and efficiently to support plant operations. The Electrician works closely with the maintenance team to troubleshoot issues, implement repairs, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment including motors, conveyors, lighting, and control systems
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper and safe operation
• Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and equipment
• Repair or replace faulty electrical components as needed
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal electrical regulations and company policies
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent electrical hazards
• Participate in safety training and emergency drills
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and electrical work performed
• Update schematics and technical documentation to reflect equipment changes and upgrades
• Coordinate repairs and upgrades with the maintenance team
• Provide support during plant shutdowns and startup procedures
• Operate electrical testing devices, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
• Maintain compliance with GMP, safety, and company policies
• Complete assigned documentation accurately and timely
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent training required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial setting, preferably in food processing
• Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automated control systems preferred
• Valid electrician license or certification as required by the state
• OSHA certification preferred
• Forklift certification/license if applicable

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and electrical codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Good communication skills
• Basic math and technical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Work Environment

• Food manufacturing and processing environment
• Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and moving machinery
• Indoor and outdoor work may be required
• May work around chemicals or allergens including pistachios and other tree nuts
• Work may involve heights and confined spaces
• Requires use of PPE and adherence to electrical safety procedures
• Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required based on operational needs
