PACO Group is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our project team supporting construction management operations for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. This individual will play a critical role in developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules from project inception, through design phases, to construction kickoff and completion.
The Project Scheduler will review, comment on, and approve contractor baseline schedules for compliance with contract documents, provide detailed analysis on monthly updates, monitor and document construction progress, and identify, track, and assist in resolving construction issues and conflicts. The role also involves merging multiple project schedules, analyzing interdependencies, and making recommendations while interfacing with Port Authority staff located across different offices. Additionally, the Project Scheduler will review staging requirements of various projects, identify potential conflicts, and recommend solutions to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and maintain both program-level and project-level construction schedules of varying complexity.
Review contractor baseline schedules and monthly updates for compliance with contract requirements.
Perform critical path, float, risk, and performance analyses, including time impact analyses.
Identify schedule logic defects, duration issues, and non-compliance, providing written analysis and recommendations.
Merge multiple project schedules and analyze interdependencies to prevent conflicts.
Review project staging requirements and recommend solutions to avoid conflicts between multiple contracts.
Prepare and present schedule analyses and findings to Port Authority Engineering Department Senior Staff.
Coordinate schedule information with Port Authority staff and contractors to ensure alignment across all project phases.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited college or university required.
Minimum of 10 years of scheduling experience in building construction and transportation projects.
Expert knowledge of construction staging and the ability to coordinate multiple contract schedules.
Expert proficiency in Oracle Primavera P3 and P6, including comparing schedule submittals and updates to contract requirements.
Valid Driver's License required.
Ability to obtain high-level security clearances such as SWAC, SIDA at Airports, or TWIC at Ports.
Skills & Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create and deliver clear, professional presentations.
Advanced analytical skills with expertise in schedule development, critical path analysis, and risk assessment.
Ability to manage multiple schedules, coordinate with diverse teams, and resolve schedule conflicts efficiently.
