Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Pool Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial swimming pool equipment. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise with Pentair, Jandy, and Hayward product lines and is proficient in programming variable speed pumps, Pentair IntelliCenter automation systems, and Jandy iAquaLink control systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Equipment Repair & Maintenance

•       Diagnose and repair pool pumps, filters, heaters, salt chlorine generators, chlorinators, and lighting systems across Pentair, Jandy, and Hayward platforms.
•       Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all pool and spa equipment, including chemical balancing, filter cleaning, gasket replacement, and O-ring servicing.
•       Identify and repair plumbing leaks (both pressure-side and suction-side), replace valves, and re-plumb equipment pads as needed.
•       Rebuild and replace pump motors, impellers, seals, and bearings.
•       Service and repair gas and electric heaters, including heat exchangers, ignition systems, and thermal regulators.

Automation & Variable Speed Pump Programming
•       Program and configure Pentair IntelliCenter systems, including pump schedules, chemistry automation (IntelliChem), lighting scenes, water features, and remote access via the ScreenLogic app.
•       Install, program, and troubleshoot Jandy iAquaLink systems, including RS communication setup, device configuration, firmware updates, and mobile app connectivity.
•       Set up and optimize variable speed pumps (Pentair IntelliFlo/SuperFlo VS, Jandy VS FloPro/ePump, Hayward Super Pump VS/TriStar VS) for energy efficiency and proper flow rates.
•       Configure pump speed schedules, priming cycles, freeze protection, and flow-based override settings.
•       Troubleshoot communication errors between automation systems and peripheral equipment (pumps, heaters, chlorinators, valves, lighting).

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
•       Use multimeters, amp clamps, pressure gauges, and flow meters to diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues.
•       Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics for Pentair, Jandy, and Hayward equipment.
•       Perform voltage, amperage, and resistance testing on motors, relays, circuit boards, and control panels.
•       Identify and resolve communication faults on RS-485 networks used by IntelliCenter and iAquaLink systems.

Customer Service & Documentation
•       Communicate clearly with homeowners and property managers regarding diagnoses, repair options, and cost estimates.
•       Provide written service reports and document all work performed, parts used, and system configurations.
•       Educate customers on proper equipment operation, automation features, and basic maintenance practices.
•       Maintain a professional appearance and keep the job site clean upon completion of work.
