Location: Hybrid (Onsite presence in Adelphi, MD required at minimum 2-3 days a week)
Summary:
The Sr. Quality Assurance Automation Engineer serves as the strategic and hands-on QA expert for integrations developed on MuleSoft and related enterprise systems. The role defines and executes QA strategy, develops testing approaches, and conducts both manual and automated testing to ensure high-quality integrations across the UMGC ecosystem. This position collaborates cross-functionally to validate data accuracy, integration reliability, and alignment with business and technical requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead QA strategy, execution, and governance for enterprise integrations, ensuring adherence to QA standards and procedures.
  • Develop and execute end-to-end test plans, cases, and documentation for integrations spanning PSFT, Workday, OnBase, DocuSign, AEM, D2L, and third-party systems.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated regression test suites for APIs and services using Playwright (TypeScript preferred) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Validate data mappings, transformation logic, API behavior, and integration accuracy across source and target systems using queries and analysis.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, architects, functional QA Leads, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and aligned to business outcomes.
  • Provide effective defect reporting, triage, and resolution; support release readiness activities; and participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Lead comprehensive code reviews to enforce architectural standards, ensuring consistency, maintainability, and high performance across all automation test suites.
  • Deliver strategic and tactical progress reports to leadership during recurring syncs and departmental meetings to ensure transparency and cross-functional alignment.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience:
  • 7+ years of automated integration testing experience for enterprise applications.
  • 5+ years hands-on test automation experience using Playwright and TypeScript
  • Strong background testing custom applications (preferably NEXT.js) and complex integrations
  • Experience validating data across systems and testing middleware-driven workflows
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile environments managing multiple priorities

Preferred Experience Requirements:
Experience:
  • Experience performing proofs of concept for new tools or applications
  • Experience with MuleSoft or other integration platforms
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, Salesforce, PSFT, D2L, or Workday-especially within higher education
  • Familiarity with AI-driven testing or LLM-enabled QA tooling
  • Experience using JMeter or BlazeMeter for performance testing

Certifications:
  • Any QA automation, cloud, or MuleSoft certifications are a plus.

Benefits Package Highlights:

Hiring Range:
$105,000.00 - $120,000.00
