Job description

Full-time, regular position | Schedule: Nights; 7 nights on, 7 nights off; Schedule will go from Wednesday to Wednesday | Starting pay: $135k per year, dependent upon experience | $15,000 sign-on bonus

Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position 

Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Pharmacist, you will review and interpret prescriptions to ensure safety, efficacy and appropriateness and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will report to the Pharmacy Manager or Director. 

Primary Tasks:

  1. Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed. 

  2. Review and monitor drug therapy that requires dosing adjustments as authorized by the physician. 

  3. Compound medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.

  4. Monitor all posting onto the patient profile in order that accuracy, drug allergies, drug interactions, duplicate therapy, rational drug therapy and incompatibilities may be realized, and better patient care received. 

  5. Enter data into the computer system such as patient, prescribed medications and cost and maintain patient profiles and charge system.

  6. Check patient medication cassettes before delivery to patient care areas to make sure the correct drug, dosage form, schedule and strength are being dispensed.

  7. Answer questions and provide information to physicians, nurses, patients, and other health care professionals on the appropriate use of medications, drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.  Addresses complaints and resolves problems.

  8. Perform activities such as: medication reviews, performance improvement projects, and presentations to staff as assigned. 

  9. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

  • College degree in Pharmacy
  • Current pharmacy license 
  • Proficient in presenting clinical subject matter to professional staff 
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as dosage calculations, formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and data analysis
  • College degree in Pharmacy required.
