Dental Assistant

Green Tree Pediatric Dentistry – Mountain Lakes, NJ

Overview

Green Tree Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic, growing private practice in Mountain Lakes, NJ. We specialize exclusively in pediatric dental care and are committed to creating a positive, welcoming environment for children and families.

In this role, you will be a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care by supporting the dentist during procedures and helping ensure smooth, efficient clinic operations. Your attention to detail, positive attitude, and teamwork will help create an experience where young patients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Compensation

$25 - $30 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before procedures
  • Take dental X-rays in compliance with state regulations (X-ray certification required)
  • Follow strict infection control and aseptic protocols
  • Provide chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Record and maintain accurate patient documentation using cloud-based dental software
  • Monitor vital signs as needed
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Support front desk operations when needed, including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and answering patient inquiries professionally

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in dental assisting (pediatric experience preferred but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols
  • Proficiency in four-handed dentistry
  • Experience with cloud-based dental software
  • X-ray certification (required)
