Regional CDL-A Hazmat Tanker Owner/Operator - Propane/Butane (Chicago,IL)
Dave Hausbeck Trucking (DHT Group) is actively hiring experienced CDL-A Hazmat Tanker Owner/Operator for our growing Propane Division serving the Stubenville, OH region.

Pay & Benefits
Average Gross Weekly Earnings: $4,000 to $6,000+ average gross weekly revenue range depending on seasonal demand and total volume.
  • Line Haul Split: 70% line haul revenue paid directly to owner/operator
  • Fuel surcharge: 100% pass-through on all fuel surcharges to offset your fuel expenses
  • Weekly settlement: Prompt, transparent weekly settlements with direct deposit

What You'll Do
  • Safely transport propane and butane (UN1075) throughout Illinois and surrounding areas.
  • Load product from terminals including:
    • Morris, IL
    • Lemont, IL
    • Channahon,IL

Deliver to multiple customer locations while maintaining the highest safety standards.
  • Load and unload tanker trailers using hoses and pumping equipment.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Accurately maintain in-cab electronic logs (ELD) and accurately log hours of service.
  • Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch.
  • Properly manage tanker equipment, valves, hoses, and strict placarding requirements.

Schedule
  • Regional/OTR operation dispatched from the Chicago, Illinois area.
  • Typical schedule: 5 days out, 2 days home.
  • One weekend day availability required.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Hazmat (H) Endorsement Required (prior to hire)
  • Tanker (T) Endorsement Required (prior to hire)
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
  • Acceptable driving record with zero major recent safety violations or preventable accidents
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sub-freezing temperatures
  • Ability to safely handle hoses and tanker equipment and wear required PPE, including cold-insulating gear and face shields

Truck and Equipment Requirements
  • DOT Compliance: tractor must pass a full DOT inspection upon sign-on, as well as routine inspections while in use
  • Logging Tech: must always run an ELD system while signed on with us
  • Wet kit: hydropack/wet kit required to spin the hydraulic pump on the trailer for offloading operations
