Job Description
Summary: The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) works under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist and provides a broad range of clinical support services to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency. This role complies with all New York State laws and regulations governing dental assisting practices.
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $24.00- $25.11
Sign On Bonus: $1,500
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the general Dental Assistant duties, RDAs will:
  • Educate patients on oral health and post-treatment care
  • Collect preliminary medical histories and vital signs for dentist review
  • Place and remove rubber dams
  • Select and prefit provisional crowns
  • Take impressions for study casts, diagnostic casts, space maintainers, orthodontic appliances, and occlusal guards
  • Remove periodontal dressings and sutures placed by a licensed dentist
  • Apply topical anticariogenic and desensitizing agents
  • Place and remove temporary separating devices and restorations
  • Remove temporary cement
  • Take dental radiographs in accordance with Public Health Law
  • Perform other authorized supportive services as directed by the supervising dentist

Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED
  • BLS/CPR certification
  • Current registration as a Dental Assistant in New York State
  • Completion of a recognized dental assisting program
  • Radiology certification per Public Health Law
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
