We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Specialist - Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) ETL Developer to support a New York State agency in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data integration solutions for mission-critical applications.
Position Overview
The Senior IT Specialist will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise ETL/ELT solutions using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering scalable data warehouse solutions while collaborating with development teams, database administrators, and infrastructure engineers to ensure reliable, high-performing data integration platforms.
This position requires extensive experience with Oracle technologies, data warehouse architecture, ETL development, SQL optimization, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise ETL/ELT solutions using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
  • Develop and support enterprise data warehouse integration processes.
  • Perform ETL application analysis, architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
  • Analyze source systems and design efficient data integration solutions.
  • Develop data mappings, transformation logic, and data movement processes.
  • Create and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code for high-performance data processing.
  • Develop database objects including tables, views, indexes, procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve technical issues affecting ETL performance and application availability.
  • Participate in performance testing, failover planning, deployment planning, endurance testing, and production implementations.
  • Review and oversee ETL development activities to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including:
    • ETL Design Documents
    • Source-to-Target Mapping Documents
    • Technical Specifications
    • Database Schemas
    • Software Architecture Documents
    • Implementation Documentation
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to ETL developers.
  • Support production troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ongoing platform optimization.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently while providing technical guidance to development teams.
  • Experience leading enterprise ETL and data warehouse development efforts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
