KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis amp; Reporting
  • Collect, validate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources including ERP, CRM, and operational systems.
  • Develop dashboards and recurring reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to support Finance and cross-functional leadership.
  • Build and maintain queries and data models to support reporting accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
Insights amp; Decision Support
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers; translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks.
  • Support forecasting and scenario modeling through advanced analytics to inform strategic and operational decisions.
Process Improvement amp; Data Governance
  • Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency, reduce error risk, and free capacity for higher-value analysis.
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and documentation standards are maintained across all reporting outputs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education amp; Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, concise insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Skills amp; Abilities — Required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent); ability to build and maintain production-ready dashboards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to Finance leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical rigor and meticulous attention to detail; strong problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a continuous process improvement mindset.
Skills amp; Abilities — Preferred
  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL or scripting languages (Python, R) for data extraction and transformation.
  • Background in a manufacturing, energy, or operationally complex environment.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Finance and operating leadership have reliable, trusted dashboards that reduce ad hoc reporting requests and accelerate decision-making.
  • Manual reporting processes have been identified, documented, and systematically automated — reducing cycle time and human error.
  • KPIs and performance metrics are clearly defined, consistently measured, and actively used across Finance, Operations, and Sales.
  • Data integrity and governance standards are in place and maintained, with documentation that supports audit and scalability.
  • The Data Analyst is recognized as a key analytical partner to the VP of Finance and broader leadership team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • On-site at Capstone’s Van Nuys, CA headquarters; regular in-office presence required.
  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment with direct exposure to Finance, Operations, Sales, and Executive leadership.
