POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Open Pit Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of haulage, support, or loading equipment, including drills, used in an open pit mining operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform pre and post operation inspections on assigned equipment
  • Follow proper procedures for mobile equipment operation.
  • Maintain work area and equipment to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • 1 years’ experience operating mining equipment (surface), preferred.
  • Ability to operate a 2-way radio, required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds required
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position, required,
