We are looking for a Blending Machine Operator 1 for the following shift:
Second Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Full-Time: Monday - Friday + mandatory weekends at the discretion of management
OnSite: Tampa, FL

JOB SUMMARY
The function of the Blending Machine Operator position is to properly operate the pump and metering system to achieve accurate blends per request, as well as the loading and offloading of railcars and trucks. Regular gauging of tanks and obtaining samples are also duties often required to be performed by this position.
Essential Duties
• Perform daily gauges on tanks to calculate volumes by API gravities and measurements.
• Operate multiple pumps, meters, and steam valves to properly blend products in designated tanks.
• Properly chose tanks for blending based on provided compatibility charts, tank sizes, and tank drain capabilities.
• Provide preference information for the spotting of railcars according to loading and offloading capabilities.
• Load and offload railcars to designated tanks.
• Heat, dump, and kettle blend drummed additives in the additive shed for specific blends as requested by the meter and pump operator in compounding.
• Connection and disconnection of hoses in various pump rooms in order to achieve blends in proper tanks.
• Shooting air or pigs through lines in order to properly clear the lines of product and save product loss through clingage.
• Employees will be cross-trained in multiple departments
• Additional duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of the blending process and the lubricants industry.
  • Previous mechanical or blending experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication & people skills, dependable and hard working.

Work Environment + Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours, able to use stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Unloading barges and ships, as needed
  • Must be comfortable with heights
  • Must be open to a flexible schedule, including working 12-hour shifts, holidays, and weekends
  • Operate in a hot, oily environment.
