Job Description:

The entry-level position within the Mesa Maintenance Shop offers a dynamic environment where technicians can gain valuable experience in various mechanical trades. From assisting with housekeeping tasks to participating in fuel system cleaning and parts replacement, employees will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced leads, inspectors, and mechanics. This hands-on approach not only helps in developing essential skills but also provides a solid foundation for career growth within the maintenance industry.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists and participate in routine inspections and make modifications to natural gas engines and generators.
  • Performs load testing on units to identify possible problems.
  • Makes electrical and mechanical wiring modifications to control circuits.
  • Tests batteries, fuel, coolant, and oil; ship oil samples for analysis.
  • Completes all assigned tasks directed by shop mechanics.
  • Other related duties may also be performed; not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual holding this classification.
  • Document work performed and reported any abnormalities or concerns to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve shop goals and objectives.
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory management and parts replacement as needed.
  • Learn the Shop Tech I checklist and become proficient.
  • Basic LB understanding.
  • Go through the Shop Tech Course and pass the course.
  • Performs all duties as assigned. 

Education:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Trade school or College Program graduates in Automotive/Diesel/NG.

Experience:

Required:

  • 0-1 year of relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Honorably discharged service veterans preferred.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

  • Able to work independently and ensure tasks are completed with little supervision.
