Job description

About Radiant

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to 5 years without refueling. Portable nuclear power with rapid-deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators and provide critical asset support for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Radiant’s unique, practical approach to nuclear development leverages modern software engineering to rapidly deliver safe, factory-built microreactors that use existing, well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory this summer, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.

About the Role

Radiant is seeking a driven recent grad to join our talent team and help build the engineering teams behind Kaleidos, our portable, mass-producible nuclear microreactor targeting commercial deployment in 2028. This is a role for someone who wants to start a career in recruitment, work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with real ownership and influence, build a deep tech career, and learn about several technical domains like nuclear, hardware, electrical, software, and more. You'll get close mentorship from recruiters and sourcers who've built teams before, regular visibility with executives, own requisitions, and find top talent for engineering leaders and their teams.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Run your own reqs from open to close, building the pipeline, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and getting offers signed.

  • Find niche talent markets for specialized engineering roles in places like GitHub repos, arXiv papers, technical mailing lists, tech foundation communities, conference speaker rosters, and academic programs.

  • Create talent market reports based on research you drive to help make better-informed recruiting strategies.

  • Coordinate interviews and help facilitate hiring team debriefs to keep decisions moving quickly.

  • Sit in on offer conversations with senior recruiters and learn how strategy and closing work in practice.

  • Help shape how Radiant recruits; the processes, tools, and 3rd party platforms you help build and adopt now become the foundation the team scales on.

  • Get hands-on exposure to hiring across multiple technical functions: electrical, mechanical, software, and more.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

  • 0–2 years of experience in recruiting, sales, sourcing, or coordination, or you've picked it up on your own and can point to something that proves it.

  • Something outside the classroom that shows real team influence, a club you led, student government, a project you built, a sport you competed in, or work you volunteered for.

  • A genuine pull toward hardware, nuclear, physics, or AI/ML; you don't need an engineering background, just real curiosity.

  • A bias toward action: you move quickly, problem-solve on the fly, and know when to raise your hand for help.

  • You're able to hold a genuine conversation with technical candidates, curious enough to ask good questions, and honest enough to admit when something's outside your depth.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related major is a plus.

  • Any prior exposure to hardware, software, engineering, or tech recruiting, even informally.

  • Comfort picking up new tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS, sourcing, LLM platforms, even without direct prior experience.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.

  • Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.

Benefits and Perks
  • Stock: Substantial incentive stock plan for all full-time employees.

  • Medical: 100% up to base silver level plan for employee + 50% dependents, offers up to Platinum plans.

  • One Medical: Sponsored memberships for employees and their dependents.

  • Vision: 100% top tier plan coverage + 50% for dependents.

  • Dental: 100% top tier plan coverage, orthodontia extra, 50% for dependents.

  • Voluntary life, accident, hospital, critical illness, commuter and FSA/HSA are offered as employee contributed benefits.

  • 8-weeks of paid parental leave for all parents. Additional paid pregnancy leave for CA employees.

  • Daily catered lunch. Free snacks and drinks.

  • Flexible PTO policy. Remote workday allocation.

  • Company and team-bonding events, happy hours and in-person camaraderie.

  • Beautiful El Segundo headquarters close to the Pacific Ocean.

Total Compensation and Benefits
Radiant compensates people for impact and invests in those who continue to raise the bar. Radiant’s new hire compensation package includes base salary, substantial equity grants, and comprehensive health benefits. Total compensation and level are determined through a rigorous evaluation of interview performance, experience, education, and qualifications, and are designed to support continued growth as scope, responsibility, and impact expand at Radiant.
