Job description

Position Overview

Bus Operator

$1,000 End-of-Season Bonus*

$600 Sign-On Bonus for CDL BP2*

Employee Housing

The Town of Vail is seeking enthusiastic, dependable individuals to join our team as Bus Operators for the 2026-2027 winter ski season.

Bus Operators provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation along assigned routes while complying with all local, state, and federal requirements. Responsibilities include practicing defensive driving, assisting passengers with route and schedule information, helping guests with disabilities board and exit the bus, and reporting accidents, vehicle damage, or vandalism. Operators may also be assigned to assist with bus washing as needed.

This is a 40-hour-per-week position scheduled across four or five days. New employees may be expected to work nights/ weekends/ and/or split shifts. Bus service operates daily from 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.

Employee housing is limited, so apply early!

*Must complete the defined season to be eligible for end-of-season bonus

*Must currently hold a CDL BP2 to receive bonus. 

Skills / Requirements

Vail is a guest service oriented and resort destination community. We realize that to set the standard for world-class alpine resorts, our employees make all the difference!  That is why we are looking for passionate individuals who strive for excellence in all that they do.  Qualified applicants must have strong verbal communication skills & pride themselves in providing the best guest service.

In addition they must meet the following requirements:

  • CDL preferred.
  • Previous guest service experience.
  • Acceptable driving record with no alcohol or drug related convictions in the last 5 years.
  • Applicants must be able to commit to the entire season; mid November to mid April.
  • Must pass all CDL requirements including medical screening, random drug testing, and licensing requirements
  • Position is exposed to engine noise and fumes, winter weather and elements when assisting passengers.

Most of shift is spent sitting while driving, with occasional stooping, standing, kneeling and lifting.
