Your Opportunity
Stantec's New Jersey Transportation group has an immediate need for talented, team focused Civil Engineers with 3-5+ years of experience in specialty areas including roadway/highway design, traffic control & construction staging design, right-of-way engineering, access design, and utility engineering. The position is for our Mount Laurel, NJ office.
This position is for individuals looking to challenge themselves on a professional level on a variety of transportation projects ranging from local roads and complete streets to major interstates to shared use paths and trails. You will have the opportunity to learn, work on exciting and multi-faceted projects, and grow your career. We are looking for Civil Engineers who excel in working in a team environment and have a passion for the work that they do.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and NJDOT specifications and CADD Standards using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
  • Develop design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos, feasibility studies, Concept Design Reports, Design Exception Reports, and Preliminary Engineering Reports.
  • Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public
  • Work alongside experienced practitioners to expand your knowledge.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience with MicroStation & OpenRoads, and / or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Work experience with public agencies (NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ) a plus.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in both small and large-scale highway improvement projects.
  • EIT preferred (PE is a plus)

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
