Our team supports high-profile public-sector projects with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.Position OverviewGarg Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Resident Engineer / Construction Management (CM) Practice Lead to support transportation infrastructure construction projects throughout Northern and Central New Jersey. This role supports projects for NJDOT, NJTA, NJ Transit, and other public agencies, overseeing roadway, bridge, rail, and civil construction activities. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring strong leadership, hands-on field experience, and technical expertise.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee construction inspection and project management for highway, bridge, rail, and civil infrastructure projectsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction-related issuesReview construction plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documentsReview and approve RFIs, shop drawings, working drawings, and value engineering proposalsPerform materials inspection and acceptance prior to installationMonitor construction activities for compliance with approved plans and specificationsTrack, document, and manage project issues and field conditionsPrepare and contribute to monthly project status reportsSupport project pursuits and staffing oversight as a CM Practice LeadRequired Qualifications & CertificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction managementMinimum 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer on roadway and bridge projectsActive New Jersey Professional Engineer (P.E.) licenseACI CertificationNJ SAT Asphalt Technician CertificationRutgers Traffic Control Coordinator CertificationOSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety CertificationStrong knowledge of rail design and construction methodsProficiency with inspection documentation software and mobile toolsAbility to work in varied weather and field conditionsTWIC Card eligibility and background screening compliancePreferred QualificationsExperience with NJDOT, NJTA, NJ Transit, or public-sector transportation projectsRail, bridge, and complex infrastructure experienceKnowledge of construction management and quality assurance practicesDesign-build and conventional delivery experienceAdditional certifications such as CCMCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $150,000 – $200,000 annuallyMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) with company matchPaid Time Off and Paid HolidaysPerformance-based bonusesProfessional development and licensing supportWellness perk; gym membership reimbursementEqual Opportunity EmployerGarg Consulting Services, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
