About REDCOM Laboratories:
REDCOM Laboratories is a leader in the design and manufacture of advanced communications solutions for mission-critical applications. We deliver secure, reliable, and innovative products to customers in defense, public safety, and commercial sectors. Our work centers on real-time voice, video, chat, and related systems that must perform under demanding conditions.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Network / Software Networking Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on secure IP networking, real-time communication systems, and software-centric network design and integration. You will help define, design, implement, and validate networking aspects of our products and solutions, working closely with software, systems, and hardware teams.
Knowledge of real-time communication system design, secure IP networking, and Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) principles is highly desirable.
What a Network Engineer Does at REDCOM Laboratories:
  • Gather and analyze requirements from internal and external stakeholders (including standards documents) and translate them into clear, actionable engineering specifications for networking and software components.
  • Design, document, and help implement network architectures and interfaces that support secure, reliable real-time communications (voice, video, chat, etc.).
  • Collaborate on system-level design that integrates software, network interfaces, and related components.
  • Contribute to networking aspects of product development, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of IP-based and related protocols.

  • Familiarity with software design principles and the ability to work with or contribute to software-based systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or coursework involving real-time communication systems, VoIP/SIP, secure networking, or related protocols.

  • Interest in or knowledge of Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) or open systems approaches.
  • Experience with software development practices (version control, testing, Agile/Scrum, etc.).
  • Understanding of UX considerations in networked or communications products is a plus.

REDCOM was awarded a Top Workplaces award three years in a row by The Democrat and Chronicle. This dedication is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous survey that uniquely measured 15 drivers of engaged cultures. These drivers are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
REDCOM allocates substantial resources to research and development. In fact, the name REDCOM is an acronym that stands for Research, Engineering, and Development in Communications.
What really makes REDCOM stand out from most other companies is our family-oriented culture. We encourage our employees to innovate and empower them to work autonomously. This enables REDCOM to not just respond to customer requirements but to generate truly innovative solutions. We understand and anticipate user needs and develop solutions to meet them. We love solving problems that other companies can't - or won't - tackle.
