Job description

Position Overview

Mercy Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our multidisciplinary team in Chandler, Arizona. This full-time role is pivotal in providing high-quality rehabilitative care to our patients, aiding in their recovery journey through the implementation of tailored therapeutic treatment plans under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists.

Work Environment

This position is onsite, based in our hospital facility located in Chandler, Arizona. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs and operational demands. Our facility is equipped with the latest therapeutic technologies and tools, creating an ideal setting for collaborative and innovative rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans designed to enhance patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring they follow correct techniques to promote effective rehabilitation and pain relief.
  • Educate patients on body mechanics and establish home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing recovery.
  • Administer various therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, while monitoring patient responses under the supervision of Physical Therapists.
  • Document and track patient progress meticulously, focusing on improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional abilities.
  • Prepare treatment areas and maintain an organized inventory of medical supplies, ensuring the therapy environment is safe and conducive to recovery.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to deliver coordinated patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and motivation to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Uphold ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality while respecting patientsโ€™ rights and privacy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program, resulting in an Associateโ€™s degree.
  • Current state licensure or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities under Physical Therapist guidance.

Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a physical therapy setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
