MOCVD Technician
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a MOCVD Technician for a company based in Sugar Land, Texas. The MOCVD Technician is responsible for the operation of MOCVD systems used for the epitaxial growth of compound semiconductor wafers. This role involves wafer handling, inspection, and participation in equipment maintenance activities, requiring strong attention to detail and teamwork in a clean-room environment.

$20.00 an hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
MOCVD Technician Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform MOCVD growth and related processes under the guidance of the engineering team, including initiation of growth recipes, loading and unloading of wafers, and monitoring reactor status.
• Conduct wafer inspections using microscopes, PL, XRD, ECV, nSpec, and other tools.
• Perform daily equipment check, record data, update databases, and maintain run logs.
• Assist engineers with MOCVD equipment maintenance and repair, including handling hazardous gases and chemicals
• Follow SOPs, safety procedures, and clean-room protocols.
MOCVD Technician Qualifications and Requirements
• Associate degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related technical field with relevant experience is required
• A Bachelor’s degree in one of these fields is preferred.
• Experience in semiconductor related technical field is preferred.
• Experience in materials characterization techniques is a plus.
• Basic computer operation, including use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and a quick learner able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on skills including fragile wafer handling using tweezers, vacuum tools, and precision instruments.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (10+ hrs. daily) in the clean-room.
• Ability to lift and carry loads 40 lbs or more.
• Ability to work safely in hazardous environment using PPE (personal protective equipment) after required training.
