Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Service (IHS), is seeking Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) for a long-term outpatient assignment in Toppenish, Washington. This position offers the rare combination of impactful work, a collaborative clinical environment, and a dependable Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays required.

Position Overview

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will provide laboratory services in an outpatient healthcare setting, supporting primary care, preventive care, and specialty clinic services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology 
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment 
  • Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration 
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results using sound professional judgment 
  • Collect and process patient specimens, including phlebotomy as needed 
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support timely patient care 
  • Accurately document laboratory findings within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) 
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, quality assurance, and accreditation standards 
  • Phlebotomy experience needed
What We're Looking For
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MLS/MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) 
  • Current certification and licensure as required by state and federal regulations 
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical laboratory experience preferred 
  • Experience in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology testing 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care 
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (RPMS)
  • Previous contract experience preferred
  • Previous experience with IHS helpful

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • 2-3 years of experience as a CLS or MLT in a hospital laboratory setting
  • Previous medical or clinical laboratory experience required
  • Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred
  • Prior Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare experience preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience needed
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, living and working primarily in the United States
  • Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance
  • Immunization records required
