Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Gadsden Physician Management clinic, affiliated with Riverview Regional Medical Center.ย  Alsoย referredย to asย anย Outpatient Clinical Medical Assistantย (CMA), Family Medicineย Medical Assistantย Medicineย or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), our clinicย supports providers by preparing patients for exams, performing clinical tasks like taking vitals, administering injections, and documenting in the EMR. They also help with patient education, care coordination, and front office duties to ensure efficient and high-quality care.ย 

Shift's Available:ย ย Daysย 

Employment Type:ย Full Timeย 

Hours:ย 8-hour shiftsย - 7:00am - 5:00pm Mon - Thur/8:00a - 12:00p on Friday

Location: ย Riverview Regional Medical Center (Advanced Medicine Clinic) - Gadsden, ALย

** You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position, or be willing to get your certification within 90 days of hire. ย 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):ย 

  • Prepare patients for exams by taking vitals, updating medical history, and noting current symptomsย 
  • Assistย with clinical procedures such as EKGs, injections, wound care, and immunizationsย 
  • Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws, throat swabs, and urinalysisย 
  • Administer medications, coordinate referrals and follow-ups, and document care in the EMRย 
  • Provide patient education, support infection control, and help with scheduling and front office tasksย 
Qualifications

Education and Training

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:ย 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certification or 90 days to complete certification
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Minimum one year work experience in public contact job
