Job Title
Medical Assistant


Schedule
Full-Time, Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. No weekends or major holidays. No part time positions, must have full time availability.
*Due to the nature of this position, some overtime may occur on occasion, but will not be excessive.


Job Summary
We are a large, privately owned, primary care practice located on the campus of St. Vincent's in Birmingham. Our medical assistants work hand in hand with our physicians to maintain the best care possible for our patients.


Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. CCMA certification is preferred, but not required.

Either CCMA certification or experience in the medical field is required.


Job Duties Include:

  • Obtaining vital sign measurements using manual and automatic devices.
  • Recording patient complaints, history, and active medication list into the EMR.
  • Adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding protected health information (PHI)
  • Administering injections as directed by the physician.
  • Performing EKGs and diabetic retinal exams.
  • Sterilizing equipment and exam rooms.
  • Relaying results and instructions from the physician to a patient, as well as documenting those messages in the patient's medical record.
