Job description

HiFyve is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Supervisor in the plastics manufacturing industry in Romeoville, IL!

Salary: $115,000–$120,000/year DOE

Shift: Full-Time – 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, occasional weekend/evening work as needed)

Location: On-site – Romeoville, IL


Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide oversight for a team of 5–7 Electro-Mechanical Technicians

• Coordinate daily maintenance assignments, downtime reporting, and shift scheduling

• Lead troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of blow molding and related equipment

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and OSHA standards across maintenance activities

• Mentor and train technicians on best practices for equipment setup, changeover, and reliability

• Support capital expenditure planning and facility improvement initiatives

• Review maintenance work orders, assign resources, and prioritize projects to maximize equipment uptime

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, training, and compliance documentation

• Partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency

• Respond to emergency maintenance situations and provide technical guidance to the team


Education Requirements

• Technical or vocational degree/certificate in mechanical/electrical fields preferred

• Equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience considered


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• 7+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2+ years in a leadership/supervisory role

• Blow molding maintenance experience strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled machinery and ancillary equipment

• Excellent leadership, communication, and training abilities

• Safety-focused and able to enforce compliance across a team
