Job description

We’re partnering with a growing mechanical construction team and hiring a full-time Mechanical Project Engineer, supporting projects in Fargo, ND.
If you enjoy problem-solving, staying organized, and being the person who keeps projects moving, this is the role where you actually see what you helped build.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Keep construction projects on track - schedules, documentation, and coordination
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout paperwork
  • Work alongside field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and project managers
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment releases, and jobsite logistics
  • Help review drawings, specs, and contracts for constructability
  • Support budgeting, cost tracking, and proposal preparation
  • Participate in meetings with contractors and customers
  • Assist with project planning, prefabrication coordination, and scheduling
  • Help solve real-time jobsite challenges (not just emails all day)

Who We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years in construction, project engineering, or mechanical trades support
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, piping, or sheet metal projects preferred
  • Able to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable communicating with field teams
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Construction Management, Engineering, or related background helpful (not required with experience)
  • Someone who likes ownership - not micromanagement

What Our Client Offers:

  • Stable, long-term career growth (not a revolving-door contractor)
  • Hands-on mentorship and real responsibility early
  • Collaborative culture - field + office actually work together
  • Strong benefits package and consistent workload
  • Opportunity to grow into Project Manager roles
