Job Responsibilities:

 Assisting a full-time Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical engineering expertise in the area of mechanical design, simulation analysis, or engineering testing procedures. Assist in the design and development of innovative forklifts and material handling equipment, focusing on one of the following:

  • Mechanical Design - Create layouts of proposed design ensuring that designs are functional, safe, reliable, serviceable, manufacturable, cost-effective and aesthetically and ergonomically correct. Select appropriate materials, organize bill of materials data and approve detail drawings.
  • Simulation Analysis - Perform structural or stability analysis of proposed or existing product, structure, or component designs to ensure that design goals are met. Analyze failed structures or components to determine probable causes of failure. Perform basic load and stress calculations and perform analysis using finite element analysis and fatigue life prediction tools.
  • Testing Procedures - Identify the commonly used concepts, methods, and procedures for the detailed development and analysis of experimental and standardized tests for new and modified products or components. Devise and apply validation procedures for components and systems under development. Evaluate new components and technologies.

Job Qualifications:

  • Candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Good written and verbal communication, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate must have a reliable means of transportation.
