Schemmer is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative full-time Mechanical Engineer, P.E. to join our team. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHANICAL ENGINEER P.E.
As part of the architecture division, you will work independently and serve as a Project Engineer on a variety of industrial, educational, healthcare, and commercial facility projects. In this role, you will lead the design and coordination of HVAC, fire protection, piping, plumbing, and temperature control systems. You will also contribute to project planning, cost development, scheduling, and coordination with utilities, communication systems, structures, equipment, and processes. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams while meeting project deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure required
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical piping, and plumbing design
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems design and construction document production
  • Experience with mechanical planning, layout, drafting, and detailing preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
