About MBI Health Services

MBI Health Services, Inc. is a community-based behavioral health provider serving individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and individuals experiencing homelessness. We are known for our immediate access to services, strong community partnerships, and commitment to meeting people where they are.

Position Overview

MBI Health Services is seeking a Community Outreach Worker with strong West Hollywood and Downtown community knowledge and provider relationships to support outreach, engagement, and linkage to mental health, substance use, and Enhanced Case Management (ECM) services.

This role is ideal for someone who is personable, organized, data-aware, and comfortable working independently in the field while remaining accountable to outreach goals and documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct community-based outreach throughout West Hollywood and or Downtown Los Angeles
  • Engage individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance use disorders
  • Build and maintain relationships with:
    • ECM teams
    • Homeless support providers
    • Sober living homes
    • Psychiatric inpatient and outpatient programs
    • Street outreach Teams
  • Provide warm handoffs and referrals to MBI clinical and case management services
  • Track outreach encounters, referrals, and outcomes using spreadsheets and agency systems
  • Accurately document outreach activities and meet productivity expectations
  • Represent MBI professionally at outreach events and community meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience working with unhoused or high-needs populations
  • Familiarity with West Hollywood and or Downtown Los Angeles service providers and networks
  • Experience collaborating with ECM teams and homeless service systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), and basic data tools
  • Reliable personal transportation and valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lived experience related to homelessness, recovery, or mental health
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with Medi-Cal, LA Care, Blue Promise, or similar systems
