The Department of Psychology in the College of College of Education and Human Services welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate position beginning August 2027. We seek candidates who share our commitment to training future generations of school psychologists in evidence-based practices for diverse populations.
About the position:
The candidate hired will have the opportunity to contribute to both our Specialist Level (Ed.S.) program in School Psychology as well as our undergraduate psychology program through curriculum development, community partnerships, leadership opportunities, and the supervision and training of future school psychologists. Job responsibilities include teaching, advising students, scholarly or creative work and department and university service. The candidate would teach courses in School Psychology (such as psychological assessment, consultation, classroom interventions, and/or other related graduate courses) as well as related undergraduate courses (such as applied behavior analysis, developmental psychology, statistics, and/or general psychology). Actual job assignments will depend upon department needs.
The Millersville University Educational Specialist Graduate Program in School Psychology is accredited by the National Association of School Psychology (NASP). We prepare our students for comprehensive and integrated service delivery in accordance with the NASP Professional Standards. Millersville University school psychology alumni are eligible for school psychology certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and to become Nationally Certified School Psychologists (NCSP) via NASP.

Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Millersville University Promotion Statement.
Minimum qualifications required to be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor include having an earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience (or its equivalent) and scholarship commensurate with this rank.

Duties and Responsibilities
EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND PERFORMANCE OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching responsibilities include graduate courses in school psychology such as assessment, consultation, applied behavior analysis, evidence-based intervention and service delivery within a multitiered system of support, practicum or internship and undergraduate courses in applied behavior analysis, child development and related areas in psychology.
Faculty are expected to hold regular office hours as well as be able to teach in a variety of delivery modalities.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise interns, practicum students, graduate assistants, and student researchers as well as participate in other reasonable duties assigned within the faculty member's field of competence. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Psychology Department offers an undergraduate program in psychology and graduate programs in clinical psychology, school psychology, and school counseling. The successful candidate will be joining a department of currently 16 full-time faculty who employ diverse pedagogies and are committed to providing our students with high quality, collaborative learning opportunities through innovative courses, student research opportunities, and community-based internships. Our faculty are highly respected in their areas of expertise and dedicated to the success of students in the classroom, in their field placements, and in campus life. As such, we are seeking candidates with evidence of a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and/or the potential to be excellent teachers and mentors in scholarship and service.
Required Qualifications

• A doctoral degree (or ABD) in School Psychology (or a related field) is required as well as eligibility for National Certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP) and School Psychology certification in Pennsylvania.
• An official transcript showing conferral of the doctoral degree is required by date of eligibility to apply for reappointment to the 2nd year (i.e., January 30, 2028). (In the event that the doctorate is not completed by the specified date, the faculty contract will be terminated effective as of the end of the first year of employment).
• Knowledge and skills to teach graduate courses in school psychology such as psychological assessment, consultation, applied behavior analysis, evidence-based intervention and service delivery within a multitiered system of support, practicum, or internship.
• Knowledge and skills to supervise graduate students in field activities and placements.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
• Ability to conduct and supervise scholarly activities.
• Commitment to serve diverse populations and to social justice advocacy within the field of school psychology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in School Psychology from an APA or NASP Approved/Accredited Program.

• One year's experience as a School Psychologist (including experience with assessment and school-based interventions).
