Job description

Job Summary-

Productor Operator uses equipment to load, unload, and transport materials assisting with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line.

This position is labor intensive, with a strong element of manual labor and a steady work pace required to support the smooth and continuous flow of production. Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled environment, with both internal and external activities.

The current schedule is 12-hour shifts, with a rotating shift change from day to night shift every 2 weeks. One week has 3 scheduled days followed by the second week with 4 scheduled days. Overtime is scheduled as required.

Starting pay at $21.00/hr. and progressing to over $25.00/hr. in the first year.

Responsibilities-

Must gain thorough knowledge of all operating and safety procedures. Tasks that may be required, but not limited to: 

  • Transport samples, raw materials, and supplies
  • Transport product by using a hand dolly and powder van (truck)
  • Maintain operating log, prepare labels as required, and accurately record information
  • Operate pneumatic and other required tools
  • Operate hoisting equipment
  • Participate in Hazmat/Fire Brigade
  • Drive tractor-trailer rig to move NC trailers, and other tasks as assigned
  • Bending, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching above shoulder level
  • Repetitive pushing & trucking of up to 210 pounds and lifting of up to 55 pounds
  • Finger, hand, and other physical dexterity required
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and rotate from day shift to night shift every 14 days
  • Must be able to perform all job requirements in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Weekend work/overtime is required
Qualifications-
  • Must have a GED/High School Diploma or able to achieve passing scores on the Work Keys Skills Test administered by CareerSource Capital Region
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check required 
  • BATFE clearance required
  • Must have a valid State Driver License
  • Must be dependable; have an acceptable work record including attendance
  • Must have the physical dexterity to operate equipment & instrumentation
  • Must have ability to communicate, read & write
  • Must have the ability to learn/understand oral & written instruction
  • Must be able to pass task certifications
  • Must have a strong desire to work & have reliable transportation
