Position Overview: Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for retail and a love for all things Clemson? The Tiger Sports Shop is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll inspire, motivate, and manage our sales team to deliver exceptional customer experiences while driving sales growth. You’ll ensure our store is always beautifully merchandised and fully stocked, ready to delight every customer who walks through our doors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Inspire and lead a team of sales associates, setting the standard for exceptional customer service and adherence to company policies. Uphold and reinforce the 23 Service Standards of The Tigers Sports Shop. Delegate tasks effectively, follow up on completion, and ensure a positive, motivating work environment.
  • Customer Engagement: Actively engage with customers, assess their needs, and provide knowledgeable assistance and product recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Store Operations: Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, processing deposits, and generating reports using our POS system. Stay informed on product updates and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Merchandising: Attractively display and merchandise products to reflect seasonality and events, ensuring the sales floor is always inviting and well-stocked.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Address any customer concerns, resolve conflicts, and communicate any issues or needs to the management team. Proactively manage inventory levels and store supplies.
  • Support Store Manager: Assist the Store Manager with training, mentoring, safety and policy adherence, and other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • At least 1 year of prior retail management experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – you’re a people person!
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with POS software is a plus.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and Clemson home football game weekends.

Hours:

  • Full-time position (34-50 hours per week).
  • Must be available between 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Monday through Sunday, with occasional extended hours.
  • Overtime may be required, compensated at time and a half for hours over 40 per week.
  • Must be available to work all Saturdays, some Sundays, and all Clemson home football game weekends.
